Frothingham Remembrance

As mentioned in the January blog, the US Navy honored the late WWII naval aviator, Everett Frothingham, who died serving his country. On February 10, 2010, Everett's son Larry and his wife Laura were invited by the Navy to be aboard the USS Missouri in Hawaii to raise the flag in his honor on the anniversary of his death. The photos, sent by the Frothinghams, are witness to an unique event aboard an historic ship that bore the principals for the signing of the unconditional surrender by the Japanese.I would recommend a visit to the Burgess Museum at the airport for a better understanding of the Frothingham family history and the contributions made to the airport and to our country.
