Hot time
One of the hottest summers and high fuel prices have kept many aircraft on the ground. Summer at Plum Island did get off to a good start when the radio control guys took to the skies on the third and fourth weekends in June. On the 16th and 17th the roar of R/C jets drew large crowds that witnessed some great high speed flying. Keeping their models under 1000 feet and slower than 200 MPH we caught an awesome show. The following weekend, the gas and electric motor boys flew lower and slower, but were just as impressive. Many thanks to Mike Fiorito and Ken Cook for their respective efforts in putting on a great performance.
