Progress Report

Work continues on the hangar at 2B2. With the usual suspects rounded up, the north wall and interior tool room was erected and finished. The crew of volunteers included Billy Caswell(painter supreme), Billy Pfeiffer (all around capability), Uncle Bert (linebacker), Nelson (always there), Little Fox and Limping Ox (braves first class)and of course Mister L-19 himself. Jim Newton, Butchy and "Tuck" came through with some much needed material. With a lot of sweat and a lot of good humor the work continues on the hangar, with the ever present goal of restoring Plum Island Airfield to its historic character.
Although the hangar effort is time consuming, Steve finds time for additions to the Birddog; namely the mounting of skis and the hydraulics that go with them. He might even get a chance to try them out if we ever get snow. The addition was successful and Steve flew the plane this week (skis up of course) and greased the doggie in on one zero.
The hangar is proving to be big enough for at least two planes and work in progress on a third as shown in the photo. Whose Varga is that? Charge him hangar fees.
We will keep you posted on the progress and any upcoming events, so check the old blog out from time to time.
