New Dog at 2B2

The long awaited arrival of Steve Noyes' L19 "Birddog" took place on Friday Sept. 8; fuselage first followed by the wings. A small contingent of volunteers were on hand to witness the event and help mount the wings. Considering that a full moon was rising in the eastern sky things went well with commandant Noyes directing. With first assistant Chief Bill Pfeiffer(USCG) at his side the doggie soon came together aided by an assortment of friends. On the weekend the flaps, ailerons and wingtips went on while Tina mowed the grass runway and kids played bang em up. Those of us who saw this L19 when it was a pile of aluminum scrap, can attest to Steve's talents in bringing this project to completion. We now anxiously await the sign-off so we can hear the doggie bark.
